Training

Whole staff training has taken place (2023-24) including:

• Unconscious bias,
• Racial identity,
• Legacies of empire 
• Culturally competent schools and parental engagement

Training and reminders are ongoing.

Mrs Patel (diversity Lead) attends half termly Local Authority Diversity Leads training sessions and a yearly Race Equality Conference, which are fed back to staff.

Previously key staff attended specific training such as Black history, Decolonising the Curriculum, Further Developing Inclusive Practice, Inclusive Retention and Recruitment.

The chair of Governors has also attended training on Diversifying the Governing Body and Unconscious bias. Mrs Patel also updates Governors on key events/ action plan progress.
